In a tragic bus accident accident at Panagudi near Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu, 10 passengers including nine Keralites died on Friday morning. As per reports, four men, four women and two children succumbed to injuries following the accident.
Kanyakumari native Jimmy (33 years) and Thiruvananthapuram native Sujin (6 years) have been identified. Around 27 injured passengers are admitted to a medical college in Nagercoil .
Reportedly, the bus carrying 38 passengers was en route to Thiruvananthapuram from Velankanni. It has been learned that the ill fated bus met with accident at around 6 am. Prima facie reports suggest that the accident ensued as the bus driver dozed off.
Thiruvananthapuram range Inspector General of Police Manoj Abraham and around 10 ten ambulances will reach the accident spot in order to coordinate rescue mission.
