Sparsh Shah who goes by the name Purhythm, may not be the real Slim Shady, but his cover of Eminem’s 2010 hit “Not Afraid” has made him an Internet sensation. The 12 year old from Iselin, New Jersey suffers from a condition called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which makes his bones extremely brittle. He has to use a wheelchair to get around but that never stopped this talented young singer from performing. In 2015 alone, he has given more than 45 performances.

In an inspiring post on his Facebook page, Sparsh wrote “This is my debut clean cover of Eminem’s, song, “Not Afraid” (with my classical touch) from his album “Recovery” as my rapper avatar, “PURHYTHM”. I feel like “Not Afraid” has been my power song ever since I heard it for the first time and Eminem became my idol in the rap genre. He has inspired me so much with his powerful songs and lyrics (minus curses), and I aspire that one day, I could get to meet him and sing (or rap!) with him. It’s always been my dream to inspire BILLIONS of people one day with my musical talent, and I wish that dream comes true. I need your support for that, so please be “Not Afraid” to like my Facebook page and share this song with everyone you know.Big thanks to my parents (Hiren Shah, Jigisha Shah) for their support and special thanks to Pratik Shah for recording this with me!”

Besides performing at various community events and making appearances at local radio stations and television shows, Sparsh is also actively involved in philanthropic work. According to a report by thebetterindia, he has helped raise over half a million dollars for various charitable organisations. With a fan base growing everyday, this small wonder continues to inspire Millions.
