Having won all three of their opening encounters in the World Cup so far, a victory over the West Indies on Friday will ensure a quarter-final berth for the Men in Blue.

While we’ve been delighted with Team India’s dominant displays so far in the competition, some of us are also craving for a slightly more exciting encounter. Here are a few things we wish to see on Friday, in the hope that they would spice up this contest.

1. Gaylestorm

We’ll all be cheering for India, but deep down, every true cricket fan loves to see Gayle go big! Besides, most of India’s matches have been one-sided so far. A little competition wouldn’t hurt.

2. Gangnam

Spectacular celebrations. That’s been the one thing missing from this World Cup so far. We want to see Gayle, Sammy and co. put on their dancing boots.

3. A Rohit Sharma special

He did hit a fifty against UAE, but that was more of a formality than a real run chase. We want to see him do what he does best. Make a big score and break records.

4. ‘Sirgiri’ from Jadeja

One player who has been awfully quiet for Team India so far is the versatile all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. We want to see something special from the left-armer that will inspire a new set of legendary jokes and memes.

5. A face-off between Virat Kohli and just about any other player

We don’t condone unsporting behaviour on the cricket field, but heated exchanges always spice up contests. To raise our hopes, Virat has recently reminded us of his dark ways.

6. A thrilling run-chase

There have been a few close contests so far in the tournament, but hardly a game that made you skip a heartbeat. We want to see a trademark, breath-taking high run-chase that keeps you glued to the seat till the very last ball.
