7 things you could do with an engineering degree certificate
I’m here to answer this million dollar question with a legit listicle.
1. Show it to your parents
Parents satisfaction FTW.
2. Land yourself a lousy job
Quite frankly, this is what most of us would do. Slog in a cubicle or factory floor day after day, only to have a 7- or 8-digit bank balance at the end of our lives. So much for dreaming, huh?
3. Get an MS or MBA just so you can go abroad
Stop pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes already. For the most part, you’re just going abroad to get the kind of freedom that you would NEVER get at home. Once you’re on your own, you could have your own place, live with friends, party when you want to, and so on. Not complaining. Just saying.
4. Up your dating game (Bharat Matrimony profile)
Phenomenal booster to exponentially increase your chances of marrying and (finally) getting laid. With a complete stranger. Congrats in advance. You have won in life.
5. Feel proud
Look at what you’ve done. Just look. Squandered the last four years learning how to pull all nighters and sitcom marathons like a boss. Golf claps and wolf howls to you.
6. Use it judiciously to swat flies and fan yourself over power cuts
I think this is definitely the most productive thing you could do with it. Value for money, ain’t it?
7. Get appreciated by family, friends and engineer-crazy India
You are now considered a viable entity in society, for you have crossed the hurdle that separates men from boys. It’s like the Hall Of Fame, without the fame part.
Topping off this list with a few quotes that Indian society lives by:
‘Engineering is a journey, not a destination.’
‘Hard times will reveal true engineers.’
‘A stitch in time saves nine engineers.’
‘Yesterday was history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift.’ That’s why it’s called engineering.’
‘Engineering is the stepping stone to success.’
‘What doesn’t kill you, makes you an engineer.’
