Well-known Malayalam cinema actor Sreejith Ravi was taken into police custody on Thursday for allegedly flashing private parts to school girls near Ottapaalam in Palakkad.
As per complaint lodged to police, on August 27, a man in a car which allegedly belongs to the actor, misbehaved with the girls near their school.
The complaints reportedly say the offender stopped his car, showed off his private parts and took photographs of the girl students and fled the scene.
Though police traced the car to the actor, identity of the offender was not verified. However, reports claimed that some of the girls identified the culprit as Sreejith.
Meanwhile, the actor told Manorama News that he has nothing to do with the incident.
“The number of the car provided by the girls are mine. But I was not involved in any such incident. The girls might have mistakenly noted down the car’s number. I have explained my version before the police,” he told Manorama.
Palakkad police will record the statement of the girls.
