Now we all know that Vinod Kambli is quite the character. One of the most promising young cricketers from Sachin Tendulkar’s generation, Kambli’s career quickly went downhill despite a promising start with the national team. Since then, Kambli has been a subject of much ridicule and derision amongst Indian fans.

Despite being well aware of the fact that he is an easy target for jokes, Kambli somehow always manages to be in the news for all the wrong reasons. And worse still, he always manages to provide more and more material for his own mockery.

On Tuesday, April 14, as Mumbai Indians took on Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, Kambli posted a series of offensive Tweets against some regulars at IPL’s pre-match show, Extra Innings.

The three comments were directed at Navjot Singh Sindhu, and former Pakistan cricketers Ramiz Raja and Shoaib Akhtar.

However, on Wednesday morning, Kambli promptly deleted the Tweets and came out with an apology, claiming it was his friend who posted the message.

Kambli would have hoped the discussion would end at that. Well, it didn’t. Twitterites decided to use this opportunity to bring out a whole new series of jokes on Kambli, his ridiculous rant and an even more ridiculous-sounding explanation.

Some jokes might seem cruel, but it’s hard to argue with the fact that Kambli was the cause of his own downfall yet again. Enjoy!
