Air India promotes it’s employee for being honest

National airlines, Air India has promoted one of its security personnel, recognizing his exemplary honesty and professional integrity.

Subhash Chander who works under the airline’s security wing has been promoted to the rank of officer security for his “exemplary conduct” by the Air India Chairman and Managing Director Aswani Lohani.

“On August 15, during the pipping ceremony, AI’s executive director for security, Alok Singh (IPS) conferred upon Chander stripes of the rank of officer, security,” Air India said.

Chandar who is a science graduate has taken multiple courses in aviation security and serving Air India for the last nearly 29 years. He on several occasions has returned valuables and belongings left by passengers in the aircraft.

Economic Times reported that June of this year, Chander found a pouch containing Rs 5 lakh, while he was checking a flight that had arrived from Hong Kong. In another similar instance – Back in 2003, Chander returned gold ornaments passenger from Bhopal.

This is the first time that a national carrier is promoting an employee for honesty claims Air India. Perhaps it’s true when they say honesty and sincerity pays in the long run. It took 27 years for that to happen to Chandar, but it did happen.
