In his recent speech in Kolhapur, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis compared BJP National Chief Amit Shah to Lord Ram.

In the speech, Fadnavis compares BJP’s Maharashtra wing to Hanuman, which is another fictional character from Ramayana, and lauds Amit Shah for making them realize their potential and winning an unprecedented majority in the state.
“Just as Lord Ram inspired Hanuman and made him aware of his powers, Amit Shah and Narendra Modi have helped Maharashtra BJP take this giant leap and win over 120 seats in the state assembly,” said Fadnavis.
The comparison, although clearly meant to be done figuratively, was not met kindly by many on Twitter. The comments drew some angry, sarcastic and funny reactions on the social networking website. Here’s a selection.
