Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli trolled after India’s defeat to Australia in the semi-final
Indian fans can be generous when it comes to praising their cricketing idols. But they can also be pretty mean when the team doesn’t perform well.
Virat Kohli and his girlfriend Anuskha Sharma found themselves at the wrong end of their own fans following India’s miserable defeat at the hands of Australia in the World Cup semi-final at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
While defeat remained the bigger cause of the outrage, fans were particularly angered by Kohli, who was dismissed on just 1 in the crucial encounter.
The star batsman was roasted for his poor show and soon, the fans turned to his ladylove Anushka Sharma, who was cheering for India from the SCG stands. Several fans targeted the Bollywood actress and blamed her for Virat Kohli’s disappointing display.
While some of the comments were just plain mean, a few of them were actually quite funny. We are not blaming Anushka, nor Virat, for India’s loss, but we are still amused by these jokes. Here’s a selection.
