Is the upcoming Arjun Sarja-Manisha Koirala starrer based on the life of Sunanda Pushkar? If rumours are to be believed, the Kannada-Tamil bi-lingual – ‘Game’ in Kannada and ‘Oru Melliya Kodu’ in Tamil – is based on the wife of former union minister Shashi Tharoor. Here are five reasons to believe that the film is based on the murder of Sunanda Pushkar.

Earlier, director A.M.R. Ramesh had said that the film deals with the story of a murder and the subsequent investigation. In this film, Arjun Sarja plays the role of an investigating officer.

The New Indian Express had reported him saying: “I will not reveal who or what is my source of inspiration because I will only end up dealing with litigation. I will reveal the details after I complete the shoot. As of now, all I can say is that a murder has taken place, a body is missing…”

Is Shaam playing the role of Shashi Tharoor? Of late, Shaam has appeared in movies like ‘Oosaravalli’ and ‘Race Gurram’ with a well-trimmed moustache. Here, he has a stubbly look. However, doesn’t he look very much like Shashi Tharoor?

  1. Khushboo

Tamil actress and politician Khushboo, who is playing a role in the film, is reported to have asked the team about the story, but the director was not keen on divulging any details. Khushboo, being the Congress party national spokesperson, wanted to know if the film is about the late Mrs. Shashi Tharoor.

A.M.R. Ramesh has earlier directed a couple of films based on real-life incidents. While ‘Cyanide’ was based on the assassination of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, ‘Attahasa’, was based on the life and death of forest brigand Veerappan.
