The alleged molestation that took place in Bangalore’s MG Road on New Year eve has sparkled widespread outrage in the country. Bollywood star Aamir Khan condemned the incident by saying that it was a shameful and saddening act.

The Dangal star was addressing the media during the launch of ‘Satyameva Jayate -Water Cup’, second edition. He questioned India’s law and order and the pace of the court trials. “If you look at America, you can see that if an incident like this happens, within two-three months the culprit would be punished. Once this happens in India, there will be a change” Aamir said.

“What happened in Bangalore was sad. Every state government should take a step against such crimes against women in the country”, he added.

According to him, people who misbehave with women have taken our law and order for granted. “Whenever we encounter such heinous acts, the culprit ideally should be behind the bars within 2 or 3 months. If we see this happening very often, the current situation would change. There will be a fear among people, which is very significant” Aamir said.
