Impromptu moments in politics either work or fall flat. But often they lead to moments of awkwardness. On Tuesday, American Vice-President Joe Biden, who is known for his gaffes, outdid himself.
At the new Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter’s White House swearing-in-ceremony, America’s ‘creepy uncle’ Joe Biden candidly grabbed Ashton’s wife – Stephanie Carter’s shoulders and also dropped a close-ear whisper!

However, such moments of creepiness ain’t new for the Vice President. Here’s a look at his past gaffes.
1. Biden leans over and whispers something in Delaware Senator Chris Coons’ daughter’s ears and then awkwardly kisses her.
2. A photograph of Joe Biden embracing TV reporter Amie Parnes went viral in December 2013.

3. In September 2012, the American VP invited an Ohio biker to sit on his lap and was seen getting cozy with her.
4. In March 2010, a microphone caught Joe Biden using the F word while congratulating President Barack Obama for his controversial health care bill signing.
5. That was not the only time Joe Biden released the F-bomb. Earlier in March 2009, his foul word outburst was picked up by the microphone at an event held at Union Station in Washington, D.C.
