Over the past few weeks, the summer heat has turned Bengaluru into a furnace making it difficult for people to manage without ACs. Is there any hope? Apparently, there might be some help arriving from the skies.

According to a report from TOI, the city might receive rainfall in the following two or three days, but in short bursts and not widespread. According to G S Srinivasa Reddy, the director of the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), people will have to wait till May before they can witness some heavy rain.

Reddy said that the state was expected to receive 44mm rain from January to April 16 but only 25mm rain was recorded during the period.

Bengaluru was always known for its pleasant weather but opinions might soon change. Rapid growth in the number of vehicles and steady decline of vegetation is quite evidently affecting the city despite it geographical positioning. It is predicted that the temperatures in Bengaluru might rise beyond 40 degrees by 2020.
