The Big B of Bollywood is all set to offer his face and voice to the traffic police and state transport as a road safety initiative. The actor was talking after inaugurating the 28th Road Safety week in Mumbai on Monday. He spoke against the practice of motorists racing behind celebrities just to click selfies or to get a glance of their favorite stars.

Speaking at the event, Bachchan said, “I have promoted noodles and paint in many commercials. I am more than happy to do something for this city by promoting better traffic habits”

“I have also noticed a practice of making children sit in the front seat of the car or placing them precariously on two wheelers. Incase of an accident, there are very high chances of the child getting injured. We have to bring in sensitivity regarding this” he added.

According to a senior traffic official, a drive will be carried out to create awareness about wearing of helmets by pillion riders and use of seat-belts in four wheeler.

The 74 year old star also encouraged the citizens to have better traffic discipline like in foreign countries.
