This Indianized version of the Colombian drama Yo soy Betty, la fea (‘Ugly Betty’) was a welcome break from the regular Indian soaps.

15. Kasauti Zindagi Ki

Apart from the heart-stopping love story of the main characters, Anurag and Prerna, this serial was also famous for its romantic title track.
