Ranbir Kapoor sparked another controversy recently when he admitted that he would like to marry a girl who is an “outsider”, ie, someone who does not belong to the Bollywood industry. Ranbir has dated actresses like Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif in the past, but if reports are to be believed, parents Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor want him to settle down now, and are looking for a non-industry girl for him. We have seen actors like Emraan Hashmi, Imran Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Sanjay Dutt and of course, Shahrukh Khan marry women who are not from the industry. We don’t know yet who Ranbir will take his saat pheras with, but here’s looking at some Bollywood superstars, who married or have partners outside the industry.

Shahid Kapoor – Mira Rajput: In a surprisingly quick move last year, Sasha married Delhi-based Mira in what can be called the perfect example of an arranged marriage in July, 2015. The cute couple has been spotted since then holding hands whenever they step out together, and recently became proud parents to a baby girl they have named Misha.

Kunal Kapoor – Naina Bachchan: Kunal might have married a girl who hails from one of the biggest families in Bollywood, but Naina has nothing to do with the industry and the two tied the knot in February last year in a very private ceremony, before holding a grand reception for friends and family.

John Abraham – Priya Runchal: After breaking up with actress Bipasha Basu, Bollywood’s macho man John too tied the knot in a very private ceremony in 2014, with Priya Runchal, an investment banker who went to the same gym as him.

Varun Dhawan – Natasha Dalal: The Dishoom actor has never openly spoken to the media about his childhood friend and alleged girlfriend Natasha Dalal, who is a budding fashion designer. The two have often been spotted together, walking hand in hand, and crew members also say that Natasha visits Varun on his film sets regularly. Will these two tie the knot soon?
