Bollywood loves to shoot in Delhi and here’s no wonder why!

If you thought Mumbai was the only place to bump into celebrities, you’re wrong! While it’s true that most of them reside there, it is also true that they move to and fro from the capital every other day. So if you’re strolling through the lush Lodhi Gardens and find a celebrity walk past you, don’t be too surprised – just be star struck!

Delhi, the capital city, is often seen playing host to Bollywood film shoots. If you haven’t already noticed in movies, here are 5 places that are most frequented for photo and movie shoots:

1. Delhi University

Delhi colleges are most frequently featured in Bollywood movies. From college romance to prom nights, fests to sports events – pay close attention, and you might just be able to point out a Delhi University college!

2. IP University

Remember No One Killed Jessica featuring Rani Mukerji and Vidya Balan? Well, the movie was shot in New Delhi and was inspired by a real controversial murder. But guess where they shot most of their sequences? The IP University Campus!

3. Old Delhi

Produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Delhi-6 is that one movie that tries to capture the true essence of the walled city – Old Delhi. Jama Masjid, Red Fort, Chandni Chowk are just some places in Old Delhi that have been fascinating directors and producers since ages.

4. Connaught Place

Connaught Place (CP) needs no introduction. Bollywood appears to have taken an exceptional liking to this area. From low budget to high budget films, shopping scenes to romantic songs, you’ll be able to recognize the impressive structures of CP in most films. .

5. Historical Place

Delhi is rich in history. And Bollywood seems to know it all too well. Historical places like India Gate, Qutub Minar and a lot more are Bollywood’s favorites – not just for movie shoots, but outdoor photo shoots as well. Not sure where you saw them?
