Bollywood’s Box Office clashes in 2016

Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale became talk of the town in 2015 when they announced their BoxOffice clash. Well, 2016 is going to be no different, with as many as 12 big flicks set to give each other tough competition on the same weekend.

1. Airlift vs Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 on January 22: Akshay Kumar’s patriotic thriller will go up against the third instalment of adult comedy series – Kya Kool Hai Hum. While Bollywood has been going gaga over the trailer of Airlift, Kya Kool Hai Hum is sure to titillate mass audiences.

2. Fitoor vs Sanam Re on February 12: Abhishek Kapoor’s much-awaited romantic tragedy Fitoor, starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will face some competition from Divya Khosla’s second directorial venture Sanam Re, starring Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam.

3. Azhar vs Mirzya on May 13: Emraan Hashmi starrer biopic on cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin will clash with Rakeysh OmPrakash Mehra’s magnanimous project – Mirzya. While Azhar has been in news due to the cricketer’s controversial life finally hitting the big screens, Mirzya will act as a launchpad for Anil Kapoor’s son – Harshvardhan opposite Tanvi Azmi’s neice – Saiyami Kher.

4. Raees vs Sultan on June 8: What has generally been a Salman Khan movie date will see King Khan’s movie also this year. The two Khans will be seen in a face-off on Eid as two of the biggest films of 2016 – ShahRukh Khan’s Raees and Salman Khan’s Sultan will both release on June 8.

5. MohenjoDaro vs Rustom on August 12: Ashutosh Gowariker’s much-awaited Mohenjo Daro starring Hrithik Roshan and newbie Pooja Hegde will see a Box Office clash against Akshay Kumar’s romantic thriller Rustom.

6. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil vs Shivaay on October 28: Festivals are always booked well in advance for movie releases and Diwali is no different. This year too, Ajay Devgn’s directorial venture Shivaay will go up against Karan Johar directed Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
