There are very few incidents where the love story of a Bollywood couple culminates into a happily ever after. While there are news of a celeb jodi dating or calling it off every other day, here are some Bollywood break-ups that shocked all of us.

Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif: They kept their romance under wraps for a good five years. Their engagement and wedding rumours kept doing rounds when reports about trouble in paradise surfaced last year. Ranbir apparently moved out of the home he was living in with Katrina a few months ago, and the two finally split citing irreconcilable differences.

Ranbir Kapoor – Deepika Padukone: Ranbir and Deepika had painted the B-Town red with their beautiful relationship. The two never shied away from talking about each other and also indulged in some healthy PDA once in a while. However, with the rumours mills churning out stories that Ranbir had allegedly had an affair with another woman, the beautiful couple called of their relationship. The two continue to remain good friends till date.

John Abraham – Bipasha Basu: John and Bipasha met each other during their modeling days, and had been together ever since. The sizzling couple dated for over 8 years, before breaking up with each other. While the two blamed each other for cheating in the relationship, John is now happily married to investment banker Priya Runchal, while it is said that Bipasha will soon tie the knot with actor boyfriend Karan Singh Grover.

Shahid Kapur – Kareena Kapoor: Another Bollywood break-up which was publicised a lot was that of Shahid and Kareena. While the Kapoor khandan was said to always disapprove of Shahid, the two maintained a dignified silence over the reasons of their break-up. Kareena is now hitched with the nawaab Saif Ali Khan while Shahid also recently tied the knot with Mira Rajput.

Preity Zinta – Ness Wadia: The bubbly actress Preity and businessman Ness made a very cute couple. The two were seen together at all events and also became business partners with the IPL cricket league. But soon reports started suggesting that Ness was physically abusing Preity and his mother Maureen Wadia too disapproved of the actress. With harassment allegations still going on, the two called off their 5-year long relationship.

Salman Khan – Aishwarya Rai: This was perhaps the most controversial break-up in Bollywood. The superstar and the beautiful Aish made a perfect couple, before news of Salman’s drunken antics and harassment allegations started doing the rounds. After an ugly scene with actor Vivek Oberoi (who was then dating Aish for a brief period), Aishwarya and Salman broke up and now choose to ignore each other at all times.
