China has allegedly developed a new radar system that is capable of detecting even stealth jets.

According to the report by people.cn, the quantum radar was developed and tested by the Intelligent Perception Technology Laboratory of the 14th Institute of the China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC).

Reportedly, the radar uses quantum entanglement photons to enable the superior detection capabilities, which can detect any target within a 60 miles range. Unlike traditional detection systems, this radar system will apparently be capable of detecting stealth aircrafts such as the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird.

China had recently launched the world’s first-ever communication satellite that  uses quantum entanglement for communication purposes as well. China had announced it is considering building a manned radar station on the moon. There are reports that claim that the country is planning to build a living quarter for astronauts and a powerful radar antenna that will be at least 50 meters high.

“Distance between the moon and Earth would cause enormous technological challenges but scientists are ready to face them and solve them for the mission,” said Professor Zhou Yiguo, a radar technology researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Electronics.
