Police officer in training was suspended for posting derogatory comments about celebrated Malayalam movie actress Manju Warrier on social media.
According to a report by Times Of India, police officer trainee, K M Renjumon was was suspended from his service in Armed Reserved (AR) Camp in Kochi on Tuesday following an inquiry by Kochi-city police commissioner M P Dinesh.
The suspended official was found to have posted disrespectful comments about the actress below of a picture on facebook in which she was seen standing with comedian Suraj Venjaramoodu.
“I like to sympathize with people who choose to react in vulgar language in my Facebook page even though they intend to malice to my reputation. But the same will not be expected from an responsible government official. The public does not expect such unbecoming behaviour from police. Women will always prefer to run police in case of trouble. But if this is the mentality of police, what happens to the safety of women in society?” Manju Warrier told Manorama News.
The actress had lodged a complaint against Renjumon to Director General of Police of the state police.
