Cricketer turned politician Sreesanth hopeful of a comeback next time
Former cricketer turned politician Sreesanth who entered the state elections poll fray from Thiruvananthapuram through Bharatiya Janata Party’s ticket was one of the most prominent faces in the run-up to the results. Much to his desperation, Sreesanth lost to UDF’s V. S. Sivakumar who only recently stepped down as the state’s health affairs minister.
However, he remains optimistic and says that he will continue working for people, thus hinting to stay engaged in political affairs—his new found love.
Burying his disappointment, he congratulated his fellow party member O Rajagopal from the Nemom constituency for creating history by becoming BJP’s first ever legislator in Kerala.
Some of his fans appreciated his efforts during the election campaign and his wish to stay in politics even after the defeat.
Doubt how many people can capture 34k votes after just 2 months of being in politics. Congrats @sreesanth36! Phenomenal achievement.

@DivyapbrS
Being 2nd itself is a big victory I would say, for a first timer.
Shows the slow change @sreesanth36— GK (@krishnajgd) May 19, 2016
And there were a few who mocked his failure through his obnoxious past.
Sreesanth lost? I hope he does not throw in the towel on his political career

Sreesanth doesn’t get the votes.
Shouldn’t be disheartened.
Has a long career in politics.
He is hardworking, aggressive, proven corrupt.— Sorabh Pant (@hankypanty) May 19, 2016
@KyaUkhaadLega Not funny. It needs guts to stand in Red Fort … Huge respect for this guy.
