AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa aka Amma has been acquitted in the disproportionate assets case by the Karnataka High Court, and Chennai is in a frenzy. The prayers of lakhs have been answered. The verdict, coming immediately after the Salman Khan case, is another of it’s sort that is calling for discussion on high profile convictions.
The party leader stepped down as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister in September 2014 after being convicted by a Karnataka trial court for holding assets disproportionate to her income. To her rivals DMK, PMK and others, this was a message from heaven and they began preparing to exploit the AIADMK’s loss. Today their dreams have have been shattered as Amma is all set to make a grand comeback.
