If reports are to be believed, Deepika Padukone has charged a whopping Rs. 11 crores for Padmavati, which is her third film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. With this coup, she has left other A-lister actresses like Kangana Ranaut (who has reportedly charged Rs. 10 crore for her latest movie), Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor Khan behind when it comes to earnings per film.
But what’s interesting here is that Deepika has also taken a step forward in reducing the pay gap between male and female actors in Bollywood with this master stroke. She has left behind most sought after actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor with this film and has come a step closer to the league of highest paid superstars like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan. What’s more! She has also left behind her still-rumoured beau Ranveer Singh, who is also playing the lead in this film. If reports are to be believed, Ranveer Singh is being paid around Rs. 7-8 crores for Padmavati. Parallel lead Shahid Kapoor is also being paid somewhere around that.
Looks like Deepika is all set to rule Bollywood and Hollywood with such achievements!
