A famous restaurant in Delhi could lose its license after it allegedly refused to serve a group of underprivileged children. Delhi’s deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia has asked the government to investigate the matter.

Sonali Shetty, who was celebrating her husband’s birthday, brought a group of street children to the restaurant. The owner allegedly refused service citing that the kids weren’t well dressed and that they looked dirty. Sonali reportedly stood outside the restaurant for ten hours protesting the discrimination.

The restaurant however claimed that the children were creating trouble and disturbing other guests.

“I think I have my rights reserved, that if someone troubles our guests, then we can ask them to leave and that’s what we did. I don’t think we have done anything wrong,” said Roma Mohapatra, the restaurant’s public relations officer.
