Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has taken over household items with his FMCG company Patanjali. What started as a company for Ayurvedic medicines, Patanjali soon ventured into household products like soap and toothpaste, before attracting customers with noodles and chocolate too!

And now, the Patanjali group is all set to benture into the garments market! Ramdev Baba announced recently that the group will launch ‘swadeshi’ jeans by the end of the year and also a line of office wear. In order to give ‘tough competition’ to foreign brands of denims, Patanjali will make Indianized jeans and hopes to win hearts and customers with its ‘home-grown’ product.

The denim-manufacturing units are already set up in Nepal and Bangladesh and some of the finished products have reached the Middle East and become popular there. Baba Ramdev hopes to get the same response in India, before expanding further.
