Drunken man rams Prosche into parked auto-rickshaws, kills one

In a freak road accident in Chennai, an auto-driver was killed and many others suffered injuries after a Porsche driven by a drunk youth rammed into parked auto-rickshaws.

Reportedly, the incident took place RK Salai in Chennai during the wee hours of Monday.

Reportedly, the , 22-year-old drunk driver, hit a median and lost control before causing the mishap.

According to a report in The News Minute, two of the victims were admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital, in which one died. It was also learned that nine others were admitted at the Royapettah General Hospital and have been discharged.

At least 12 auto-rickshaws were said to be damaged.

The deceased auto-driver was identified as Arumugam, 30, from Tirutani.

According to reports, the driver was allegedly Vikash Anand, a professional racer who was recently in the news for winning the premier title in the MRF Formula 1600 category.

Vikash’s friend, Charan Kumar, was also allegedly in the car at the time of the accident. According to reports, Chennai police confirmed the arrest of the driver.

Earlier this year, a woman driving an Audi, also allegedly drunk, killed a 45-year-old man while speeding on OMR in Chennai.
