‘Duke’ the Dog is the Mayor of a Minnesotan town

Duke the dog  is the mayor of Cormorant town in Minnesota for the third consecutive term and supposedly he is one of the most famous politicians in the US.

Duke, sworn in as the mayor of this wee town with a population of just 1000 residents. His tenure will wait for another three years before it expires next.

“Everybody voted for Duke — except for one vote for his girlfriend, Lassie”, according to Duke’s owner, David Rick was quoted by ABC Online.

Reportedly, the nine-year-old great Pyrenees was first elected in 2014 with 12 write-in votes during the town’s annual Cormorant Daze festival.

According to ABC Online, even his human opponent, Richard Sherbrook, admitted that he voted for Duke the dog.

“He’s done such great things for the community,” ABC Online quoted Karen Nelson, who describes herself as “Mayor Duke’s caretaker” .

“I don’t know who would run against him.”

Mayor, obviously could not comment!
