Last week, a video of a tiger on the loose on the Doha expressway had gone viral. In the video, an Arab is seen grabbing the chain, patting the tiger and taking him back to the car. Arabs are known to keep big cats as pets, but little did we expect the incident to have a Malayali connection.

The tiger that ran through the traffic on the busy Al Rayyan expressway was in fact a runaway artiste from a Malayalam film. Yes, you heard it right!

The domesticated tiger was on his way to the sets of V K Prakash’s Marubhumiyile Aana (Elephant of the Desert). Actor Biju Menon was supposedly scripted to make a grand entrance holding the chained tiger.

The visibly lost tiger had escaped a caged truck and he was later taken back by one of his trainers. The Qatar police identified the vehicle after the video went viral and according Malayalam Manorama one of its trainers had to pay a hefty fee.
