Google Street View protects this cow’s privacy by blurring it’s face

Google Street View which is featured in Google Maps and Google Earth that provides panoramic views from positions along many streets in the world. Generally, google blurs out People’s faces and number plates in their images for sake of privacy.

The Internet giant’s face-blurring technology went one step further and blurred the face of a cow that was captured by Google’s cameras at Coe Fen, Cambridge. Guess, animals deserve privacy too.

Guardian’s David Shariatmadari who spotted the image posted it on Twitter and it quickly became viral with more than 11k retweets.

Google admitted their software had been udderly ‘overzealous’, but didn’t begrudge cow for milking its newfound fame.

“We thought you were pulling the udder one when we herd the moos, but it’s clear that our automatic face-blurring technology has been a little overzealous. Of course, we don’t begrudge this cow milking its five minutes of fame,” said Google’s spokesperson.
