Renowned poet and author Gulzar celebrates his 80th birthday today.
One of India’s most acclaimed and revered lyricist and poet, Gulzar Sahab, as he is respectfully called, gave us Urdu and Hindi poetry of the highest subtlety and charm.
His works musing on varied subjects like philosophy, life, romance and nature, move us to our depths, making us enter the inner depths of beauty and consciousness. Bollywood and the world of poetry is indebted to this great man for his contributions, that make the best of theirs too.
Gulzar Sahab has won many National Awards, an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Bhushan. Today, he stands tall as one of the stalwart litterateur of all times and is continuing to give us the best of his works.
