Haryana’s top cop seems to be genuinely enraged by the atrocities committed against Indian women. But things may have got out of his hands after he exhorted public to kill men caught harassing women.

The state’s director general of police K. P. Singh, in a footage released by Asian News International (ANI), is seen saying that if the residents of the state see a women being harassed, they have every right under the law to kill the person. (What? When did the country’s law manuals approve of lynch mobs?)

And that’s not all.

According to him:

1) If someone is trying to kill you, you are allowed to kill him

2) If you see a woman being insulted or harassed, you are allowed to kill that man

3) If someone is trying to burn your house or shop, you are allowed to kill him

He also added that the police is very much out there to help citizens but they should help themselves at times.

Mr Singh, could you please clarify your claims?
