There’s something about Nayan; she can’t go too long without her romantic life overwhelming her professional one. The latest is a flurry of stories that she has secretly got married to Tamil actor-director Vignesh Shivan.

The grapevine
Film websites and even mainstream media have it that Nayanthara, who’ll next be seen in the Suriya-starrer Masss, has been dating Vignesh Shivan who is directing her in the upcoming Naanum Rowdythaan. Some said they’d tied the knot in a hush-hush ceremony in a Cochin church.
Vignesh Shivan entered Kollywood as an actor and appeared in films such as the Dhanush-starrer Raghuvaran BTech. He then turned to filmmaking and directed Poda Podi, starring Simbu. He is currently making Naanum Rowdythaan starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara in the lead roles. The 29-year-old director is two years older than Nayanthara.

Few Kollywood actresses have been so open about their relationships and attracted attention because of that as Nayanthara has. She was in a much-publicised relationship with Simbu which ended in a break-up. Her relationship with director-choreographer Prabhudeva also ended in heartache for the actress who had hoped for marriage and even talked of giving up films for domestic bliss. After the split, she was reclusive for a time, but bounced back and quickly climbed to the top of the A-lister chart. It’s now a case of wait-and-watch for her to confirm or deny the reports about marriage to Vignesh Shivan.
