What do cat memes, Flappy Bird and Lilly Singh (a.k.a. ||Superwoman||) have in common? If you guessed that they are all Internet sensations, then kudos to you and your knowledge of all things viral. And while Flappy Bird (watch her take on the addictive game) may no longer available for download, Singh’s 5,352,851 fans can log into her YouTube channel every Monday and Thursday for new videos.

Fans in India will have the chance to get a little more up close and personal when she attends the YouTube FanFest that kick starts in Mumbai on March 20.

The Canadian- born Indian, whose family originally hails from Punjab, started her channel on YouTube due to the “lack of a female presence especially within the South Asian community”. Her pan-cultural humor will strike a chord with South Asians both young and old, all over the world.

Singh has said she gets her inspiration from everyday people she meets when she goes shopping, the things people complain to her about and from fan requests. But the greatest influence is obviously ‘her parents’. Singh dresses up as two typically Punjabi parents, and these alter egos pull no punches when giving their opinion on a variety of subjects. Needless to say, they are a huge fan favourite.

Here are some of the popular videos from her channel

Parents react to 50 Shades of Grey

She has also covered topics like her parents’ first meeting with a prospective boyfriend:

Singh’s own parents have also made appearances on her channel and are very supportive of their daughter.

This will be Singh’s second trip to India. On her last trip, Shahrukh Khan came to her show as his daughter Suhana is said to be a big fan.
