Chivas Regal Royal Salute 50 year old

The Chivas Regal created the Royal Salute to celebrate the golden jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2002. Marking the Queen’s ascension to the throne in 1952, the bottle was laid in a barrel to age. 50 years later, the barrel was emptied into 255 bottles. The whiskey is said to contain a raisin and cloudy anise flavor.

The Macallan 55 Year Old Lalique Decanter

The Dalmore Selene was named after the Titan goddess of the moon, two individual casks were filled on the same day on 7th June 1951 and left to sleep in a dark warehouse at Dalmore. Half a century later the two casks were married and the deity of their consummation was ‘The Selene’.

The Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve was bottled in November 2011. It was a commemoration of her contribution to Glenfiddich and the celebration of her 110th birthday. Just 15 bottles of this fine luxury was filled due to evaporation and barrel soaking over the years it spent in slumber.

Taste – Creamy vanilla and a gentle smokiness, sweet oak and zesty orange.

Dalmore 64 Trinitas

One of the rarest single malts in the world, the Dalmore 64 Trinitas only came in 3 bottles. The aging of this fine tasteful luxury is quite complex, it has spirits from different ages -1868, 1878, 1926 and 1939. It matured after a zenith of sleep only to be awakened 64 years later for 3 very gifted (and rich) single malt lovers to indulge in.

The Macallan 64 was Macallan’s oldest single malt to be sold in 2010, and the proceeds went to a charity which aimed at providing safe drinking water to developing nations. The Macallan 64 was vatted from three sherry-seasoned oak casks, one in 1942, the second in 1945, and the third in 1946. The main highlight of this fine single malt is its Lalique crystal decanter made specifically for the Macallan 64.

Isabella’s Islay

Isabella’s Islay doesn’t exactly qualify in the list of the most expensive single malts of the world. Firstly, nobody knows its age, Ruwa the “non-alcoholic beverage company”, the creators of Isabella’s Islay claim that it is very old, but without a number. But, why so expensive? Well, the decanter it comes in has 8,500 diamonds, 300 rubies and white gold equivalent to 2 solid bars. All this over a crystal shell.

Price – $6.2 million
