Tim met with top industrialists, Bollywood stars and the general public to understand India better. He reportedly felt a sense of warmth from the Indian people that he had not felt anywhere else. He also has his eyes fixed on making India the new hub for Apple’s activities.

Recognizing the booming smartphone market in India, Tim has entered into a partnership with Reliance Jio to boost iPhone sales in the country. Nearly two million Reliance-Jio-powered iPhones will soon enter the market.

Tim Cook inaugurated Apple’s development centre in Hyderabad on Tursday. It is the company’s  largest tech development centre outside of US and will mainly focus on developing maps for Apple products like iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.

The new facility set-up on a leased space at WaveRock complex, Nanakramguda, is expected to create up to 4000  jobs.

Tim Cook also launched a research-oriented app development lab at the Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science for Women in Hyderabad.  The lab is equipped with high-end Apple systems and will be run under the supervision of GNIT.

They will bring in specialized app developers from Apple to train the students on Mac IOs and related future apps.
