Housing.com CEO Rahul Yadav’s resignation letter: Brave, brilliant or brash?
Housing.com CEO Rahul Yadav wrote a rather scathing and caustic letter to the company’s board members to announce his resignation on Monday.
The charismatic 26-year-old, who was behind India’s most exciting and successful start-ups, however, has never been too far from controversy.
Not too long ago, Yadav had accused Sequoia Capital’s Managing Director Shailendra Singh of executing ‘wrong and unethical’ business practices.
He has even been involved in a fierce legal battle with the Times Group, which runs magicbricks.com, one of Housing.com’s biggest competitors.
In his scorching letter, Yadav calls the board members ‘intellectually incapable’ of having a sensible discussion and offers a notice period of just one week, after taking into considering his life expectancy.
Here’s the full text.
Dear board members and investors,
I don’t think you guys are intellectually capable enough to have any sensible discussion anymore. This is something which I not just believe but can prove on your faces also!
I had calculated long back (by taking avg life expectancy minus avg sleeping hrs) that I only have ~3L (hours) in my life. ~3L hrs are certainly not much to waste with you guys!
Hence resigning from the position of Directorship, Chairmanship and the CEO position of the company. I’m available for the next 7 days to help in the transition. Won’t give more time after that. So please be efficient in this duration.
Cheers,
Rahul
The letter drew mixed reactions on Twitter. Some found the letter naïve and immature, some thought it was brave and honest, while some just took this opportunity to make jokes.
Here are a few reactions.

Housing co-founder Rahul Yadav resigned in one of the most in your-face resignation letter. But does show a lack of maturity on his part.
