Trolling is now passé. With celebrities being accessible on social media, it has become second skin for people in the online world to comment and share opinions with them. While some take some of the meanness meted out to them rather sourly, Abhishek Bachchan recently showed how it should be done.
The user of a micro-blogging site recently tweeted to @juniorbachchan (Abhishek’s handle), saying his status and achievements are all due to his lineage and that he has nothing of his own to be proud of. This is what was tweeted to him:

While this could easily earn the ire of anyone, Bachchan junior responded with remarkable maturity. He acknowledged the comment, agreed with the tweeter, and also expressed his desire to do better to “earn your respect”. Here’s what Abhishek tweeted back:

The response not only took Abhishek’s fans by surprise, but also the original tweeter. He immediately responded to Abhishek, appreciating his response and the fact that he actually responded. Strangely (?) though, the original tweeter also locked his account after that, hiding his tweets from public view. Whether or not it was this exchange that caused it, we wouldn’t know. Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan’s fans who may have been sharpening their knives, were moved by their idol’s response and exhibited their love for him immediately.
