How does a Prime Minister make the news in New Zealand? He pulls a girl’s ponytail!
It looks like politicians around the world are getting better and better at getting trolled on social media — sometimes by getting too close to women, and at others, by simply tugging on the pony tails of women and girls.
Wait, what?
Yes, you read that right. New Zealand’s Prime Minister John Key has done just that. A waitress from Auckland, in an anonymous blog post, claimed that Key repeatedly tugged at her pony tail.
Even though Key made an apology (much later), it seems people are not ready to let him off easy. And guess what, #ponytailgate is now trending on social media.
Mr Key, you’re a PRIME MINISTER, not an evil kindergarten kid!
Let us hope John Key isn’t tempted by this sort of thing while in Turkey. #ponytailgate pic.twitter.com/XVDyrO4QFe
