Massive rescue operations is underway in Nepal after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on Saturday shattered the city of Kathmandu and other part of the country. Over 4,000 people have been reportedly dead and several others have been injured, even as rescuers strive hard to pull bodies out of the debris.

India responded to the tragedy by launching Operation Maitri, which aims to help evacuate people stranded in areas affected. Help has also arrived in Kathmandu from China, Israel, Pakistan and other countries.
