India’s premier browser partners with Twitter and Microsoft to provide live cricket content

UC browser has struck a deal with Twitter and Microsoft Bing to provide cricket content on its UC Cricket app ahead of the 2016 T20 world cup and upcoming IPL tournaments.

UC Browser is one of the most used internet browsers in India and is a product of UCWeb of the Alibaba Mobile Business Group

The app which was launched in 2013 aggregates cricket content in the form of live score, news, videos, live tweets, photo, stats, previews, commentaries and more. The deal should go hand in hand with the UC Cricket revamped interface new features, like the floating widget called UC Express which allows users to easily access cricket content, with customisable notifications.

“The partnership with UCWeb will extend the best Tweets from the most exciting moments of every match by fans, players, and commentators to a larger and new cricket-loving audience throughout the season,” said Ravichandran Bhaskaran, head of business development, India and South Asia for Twitter, in a statement.

Bing will provide predictions to upcoming games through their Bing Predicts . Reportedly, 83% of Bing Predicts’ predictions for the World Cup matches were accurate.

“The new tie-up with Twitter and Bing will reshape the digital cricket content landscape by offering the right mix of content for all cricket lovers in India ahead of the upcoming cricket season,” said Kenny Ye, GM of Global Markets, Alibaba Mobile Business Group.
