Infocus Epic 1 deca-core smartphone launched in India at Rs 12,999

We have heard of a few Octa-core smartphones, but have you heard of a Deca-core one? American Smartphone maker Infocus has just launched it’s first Deca-core smartphone Epic 1 in the Indian market.

The device is priced at Rs 12,999 is exclusively being sold on Amazon. The fact that the company claims that it is American all the way, does raise some eyebrows doesn’t it? We are all used to seeing Chinese companies selling buffed up smartphones under very affordable rates, but American? Now that’s a first.

Mediatek Helio X20 10 core SoC

Hands down the selling point of this device has got to be the Mediatek Helio X20 10 core SoC along with Mali T720 MP2 GPU and 3GB of RAM. On paper, this device must be able to handle resource intensive tasks pretty easily.   The company also claims that the processor is able to save up to 30% more battery power.

Infocus Epic 1 which is crafted out of a metal body comes with  fingerprint sensor at the back panel for security and has a FHD (1080×1920 pixels) 5.5 inch display.

Epic 1 has an inbuilt 32 GB internal memory which is expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card. It has a USB Type-C port and sports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity options.

Another plus point of the phone is its 16MP PDAF rear camera  with Object Tracking technology and Optical Image Stabilization. It also comes with a 8 MP  front camera with f/1.8 aperture.
