In a major blow to the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings were on Tuesday (July 14) suspended from the Twenty20 tournament for a period of 2 years.

The Supreme Court-appointed Justice Lodha Committee also suspended former CSK team official Gurunath Meiyappan and Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra for life from any cricketing activity by the committee. The two were earlier found guilty of betting during the 2013 Indian Premier League.

Following this controversial IPL verdict, cricket fans took to Twitter to express their views over the same.

Not surprisingly, Dhoni and Co. received the maximum flak with Tweeples heavily mocking the franchise and its players.

Here’s a look at some of the tweets mocking CSK and its team members:

There were also a few who spared a thought for legendary batsman and Rajasthan Royals’ mentor Rahul Dravid.

What happens to the players of both the teams? Will Dhoni join another franchise? and will Rahul Dravid mentor any other team?

These questions plague IPL fans, but only time will reveal the fate of these two franchisees and its players.

Meanwhile, here’s something we’re sure about!
