There is some good news for all Mumbaikars who commute daily in the local trains. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has decided to install instant pizza vending machines at five of the busiest railway stations in Mumbai.

Mumbaikars, who are traveling to or from Kalyan, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in Kurla, Mumbai Central, CST and Andheri will be able to cater to their hunger pangs with an instant, thin-crust pizza made available in less than 5 minutes from these vending machines. The passengers will be able to customize the pizza toppings after putting in a token. The vending machine will be transparent so that customers will be able to see each step of how their pizza is made – right from the kneading of the dough to the baking.

Thane already has a pizza vending machine and due to its success, IRCTC planned this move to put up pizza ATMs at other stations as well. So next time you see a long queue near a vending machine on the railway station in Mumbai, understand that you will have to wait to try your instant pizza.

Looks like the humble vada pav is going to get some tough competition from this international fast food.
