The two are completely different; Uttama Villain includes a period segment and is a grand drama, while Vai Raja Vai is a light, commercial summer, perfect for the summer holidays, according to its director.

It’s a full-on masala flick
Aishwarya Rajnikanth has said Vai Raja Vai will be nothing like her directorial debut, 3. Vai Raja Vai is billed as a commercial entertainer with mystery, drama, romance and action woven in.
The cast
Vai Raja Vai stars Gautham Karthik, who made his debut in Kadal, Priya Anand and Tapsee Pannu in a dark role. Aishwarya has said Tapsee’s role will be like that of a Bond girl.

Dhanush cameo
Dhanush is making a cameo appearance in the movie. Aishwarya apparently believes her husband is a lucky charm. He’ll be playing Kokki Kumar, reprising a character from his film Puduppettai.
