Ganesh Damodar (Babarao) Savarkar had claimed in his book that Jesus Christ was born a Tamil Hindu. According to the book ‘Jesus Parichay’, Jesus is a Tamil Brahmin and Christianity is just a cult formed from Hinduism and not a separate religion.

The controversial book which was written in 1946 is now being re-issued by a right-wing trust.

Though the book does not say anything about his birth place, the author banks on the controversial theory which states that current middle east had Hindu settlements at the time of Christ’s birth. In his book, he also claims that Jesus traveled to India.

According to Mid-day, the book claims that Jesus was a Tamil Hindu, and his real name was Keshao Krishna. Tamil was his mother tongue (obviously, he was a Tamil Brahmin) and his ‘Janeyu’ ceremony was held when he was 12. The book also adds that Jesus and his family dressed in the Indian style and also claims that Palestinian arabic language is a form of Tamil language. (Wait, What!)

While we have heard of claims that he survived crucifixion and exiled to Himalayas to meditate, These new claims would even surprise Jesus himself.

The Swatantryaveer Savarkar Rashtriya Smarak will release the Marathi book on February 26.It looks like someone did not get the gist of ‘Make in India’ initiative.
