Kamal Haasan joins Twitter on R-Day: Notches up 30k followers in quick time
Legendary Tamil actor Kamal Haasan, who’s always in step with the latest trends – whether in cinema, technology or media – has been a latecomer to Twitter, joining on Republic Day with the Twitter handle @ikamalhaasan. He’s notched up 37,000 followers so far and the numbers will surely swell in the days to come. He joins other celebs like Amithabh Bachchan and Rajnikanth who are already on the platform.
In keeping with the spirit of Republic Day, Kamal Tweeted a specially created video of him singing the National Anthem to music set by maestro Ilayaraja. It was accompanied by a Tweet on India’s freedom struggle and the need to respect it even today.
