The franchise
It all began with Muni, the first comedy-horror film released in 2007 by director-choreographer Raghava Lawrence, who wrote the story and screenplay. His performance in this revenge story was well received.
In 2011, Raghava came up with the next version, ‘Muni 2: Kanchana’, more intense and emotional than the earlier one. This film had Sarathkumar playing a transgender.
Kanchana (Muni 2) trailer
While in ‘Muni’, Ganesh (Raghava Lawrence) is possessed by the ghost of a man named Muni, in ‘Kanchana’, Raghava (Raghava Lawrence) is possessed by three ghosts at a time. The film completed 100 days and became a super hit.
Now the third version ‘Kanchana 2′ is here to haunt you. This film is about a TV channel visiting a deserted beachside bungalow to film a horror show, where the director and the cameraman are possessed by ghosts.
While these movies are not connected to each other, each movie has a protagonist who is terrified of ghosts but ends up being possessed by them. The ghosts have some revenge to seek, and the lead actor helps them in getting justice.
‘Kanchana 2′ highlights
Kanchana 2 has got the thumbs up for Raghava Lawrence’s performance, more horror scenes, intense emotions and a fair bit of CG work. Along with Raghava, Kovai Sarala and Manobala are here to tickle your funny bones.
The film has 5 songs, and ‘Vaaya Veera’, featuring Tapsee, is climbing the charts.
There is only one thing that connects ‘OK Kanmani’ with ‘Kanchana 2’, and that is Nithya Menen.
