If Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s bike collection doesn’t make you drool, nothing will

“If you really want to know
What I want in a guy…
Well, I’m lookin’ for a dream on a mean machine
With hell in his eyes.
I want a devil in skin tight leather,
And he’s gonna be wild as the wind.
And one fine night, I’ll be holdin’ on tight….”

Michelle Pfeiffer had a fairly good idea of what she wanted in a man in Grease 2. And Mahendra Singh Dhoni seems to meet every one of her desires.

A dream on a dream machine: Check
Hell in his eyes: Check
Devil in skin tight leather: Check
Wild as the wind: Check

And if he wasn’t married, who knows, the Hollywood diva may even have had a chance to get what she wants in the last line there.

But I digress.

This isn’t about Michelle Pfeiffer. This is about the coolest guy to have graced Indian cricket. And we’re not even talking about how he plays.

We’re talking about his bikes. Or if you’re a connoisseur like him, his motorcycles.

The first to admit his passion for all things with two-wheels and an engine, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has built quite an enviable collection.

So, without further ado, here are the residents of Mahi’s garage.

Kawasaki Ninja H2

Dhoni’s latest acquisition, the street-legal version of the track-only H2R, the H2 has a supercharged 998cc motor that produces a mammoth 197bhp with 133Nm of torque. And it goes from 0-100kmph in 2.5 seconds, making it India’s fastest road bike. The price of such awesomeness: Rs 29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Confederate X132 Hellcat

This revolutionary motorcycle has turned heads wherever it has gone. And why not! The Hellcat is powered by a massive 2,163cc (132 cubic inches) engine that churns out 121bhp and 190Nm of torque. If the looks don’t sway you away, the performance certainly will. I’m still catching my breath.

Kawasaki ZX14R Ninja

The ZX14R was once the fastest motorcycle in India, until it was overtaken by the Kawasaki Ninja H2 above. Some stats: 1,350cc engine, 190bhp, top speed of 299kmph, 0-100kmph in 2.9 seconds. Mind. Blown.

If you’re a motorcycle afficionado, a Harley must make it to your collection, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni is no exception. He’s the proud owner of this vintage softail touring beauty.

Yamaha Thundercat

This 599cc, 87bhp, 240kmph rocket is any owner’s pride, but pales in comparison to the heavyweights in MSD’s stable. However, make no mistake, the Thundercat is one of the most comfortable and fastest bikes out there.

From the fast and the furious to the regal: Meet the Machismo. Enfields aren’t about numbers, they’re about the riding experience.

Ducati 1098

160bhp+123Nm torque+173kg=highest torque-to-weight ratio of any production sport bike ever made. The Ducati 1098 created ripples in the racing world, taking home two Superbike World Championships.

Yamaha RD350

Yet another statement piece, the RD350 embodies all things vintage. It was the first sporting motorcycle built in India, and it enjoys cult status even today.

Dhoni also owns a Yamaha RX, a Yamaha RXZ, a Hero Honda Karizma ZMR and a TVS Apache.

But before he became MS Dhoni the superstar, there was Mahi, the lanky lad from Ranchi. And here’s how it all started.

And that’s the way MSD rolls, ‘cuz he’s a …

“… cool rider,
A cool, cool, cool, cool rider.
I want a cool rider,
A cool, cool, cool, cool rider.
I want a cool rider.
I need a cool rider.”

Well, Michelle, you found him.
