In a deplorable incident of ingratitude, unidentified persons replicated a grave to bid farewell to a retiring college principal on the day of her retirement.

T N Sarasu retired from Victoria College, Palakkad, after 26 years of service. Though the local police has registered a case in this regard nobody has been booked yet.

Sarasu retired on 31 March as the principal of the college. She was prepared mentally to face the reality of retirement but little did she expect the cruel farewell.

“Respite from 26-year-old nonsense ‘history’. Thanks for all services,” read a sarcastically worded placard placed on the grave in the college ground on the day of Sarasu’s retirement.

Struggling to recover from the shock after the gross farewell, the retired college principal suspects that the left wing teachers’ association and the left wing students’ union SFI jointly carried out the act.

“I believe that it was done by students affiliated to SFI and Left wing teacher association,” alleged Sarasu.

Palakkad north police has registered the case on the pretext of a written complaint that the retired principal had lodged.

Meanwhile, SFI and the left wing teachers’ union have reportedly rubbished the allegations levelled against them.
